What our guests say . .

Our family stayed in the house for a week. It is spacious and very well equipped (we did not even use the top floor . . . ). The Garden is very large and pleasant, there are lots of games for children (table football, table tennis, bikes for the whole family). It is easy to do your shopping within 2km. Perfect stay, we will definitely be back.

We had a lovely week in this beautiful house, nicely appointed, clean and equipped with everything. The house is located near Villedieu-les-Pooles (to visit), half an hour by car from many tourist sites (Granville, Avranches, Beaches) and 45 minutes from Mont Saint Michel. On the other hand, no patch to walk in the surroundings, you have to walk on the road; this being little frequented). Several bikes are available, we were able to get to Hambye Abbey by pedaling, it was pleasant despite the climbs 🙂 The owner does not speak French but it was Dominique, the French neighbour who greeted us. Very pleasant stay, but beware people over 1.8 m, the living room door is low and some of us have bumped into each other more than once, but it is also the charm of old houses 🙂

It was easy for us to make arrangements in the context of the covid-19 restrictions thanks to the host’s empathy and flexibility. He followed us in our wish to postpone a final arrangement until the French government announced new measures and he even suggested alternative arrangements should the crisis deepen – which was not the case at that moment. The house is very well equipped and very clean, has good beds and a marvellous well-kept garden in very quiet surroundings. The bikes were very popular with the children. Outings require a car drive of 1 hour maximum. The housekeeper was very kind and explained everything we needed to know.
Great property
We loved our holiday here . We were a group of 3 families all with small children. The house was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. Each family had their own space and bathroom. The outside area was huge and there was plenty to keep the kids occupied. They loved the climbing frame, slide and having the space to roam. We had great days out at Hauteville Sur Mer. Mont St Michel and Utah Beach and also visited the swimming pool in St Lo. Darren was happy to answer any questions before the trip and Dominique was also really helpful when we arrived. Would highly recommend staying at this property.

Beautiful house with everything you need

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house is set in beautiful surroundings, was lovely and warm yet spacious with everything that we needed. Dominique was waiting for us on arrival and quickly took us around before allowing us to get on with the unpacking, The area is lovely with plenty to do and the food we bought locally especially from the butchers in Percy was delicious. A great time was had by all!

The house was how we imagined it to be; lots of space for the Kids to enjoy themselves and let off steam. The house itself was privately situated, full of character and thoughtfully renovated with the needs of a modern Family in mind. We all enjoyed our stay there and would have no Problem to book again.

The house is huge, family friendly with lots of space and bathrooms. Very clean and homely my family loved it. UK TV was an added bonus. The outside play area was a big hit with our kids, we ate outside a lot as a family as It is so peaceful and quiet. On arrival we were shown around by a lovely lady who helped with all the questions we had. The Milk and wine etc were a nice touch. The local area has beaches, to relax by or to explore (D Day beaches). history, and activities in abundance. The pool at St Lo was a hit also. The family did not want to leave. We all had a lovely holiday and would love to go back.

We stayed here with 3 generations of my family and everyone of us loved our time here. The house is beautiful and immaculate. The garden was a huge hit with the kids as were the bikes which allowed us to explore the beautiful local country side. The lovely lady who showed us round was really helpful and gave us some great tips on where to go locally. The wine and cheese that was left for us was a welcome and delicious touch. Couldn’t recommend this house enough and would definitely return.

La Basse Seroudiere

We were very well received! Very beautiful house. Decoration made with great taste. The rooms are very nice. It is a paradise for children with lots of games available especially outdoor play!

La Basse Seroudiere

This was one of the most amazing weeks of our life! The house is absolutely stunning and you did such an incredible job making it a home for the guests. The kitchen is very well equipped and there was a great selection of useful items for younger children including wooden cot, baby bath, highchair, staircases, toilet seat etc. The beds are very comfortable, every room has its own character, we loved using the fireplace. Our daughter enjoyed spending time in the garden and using the slide. The house is in a very peaceful setting, one can truly regenerate and relax. We loved going to the local bakery to get fresh baguettes every day and exploring nearby towns. We will definitely be back.

Thanks again.

Beautiful house

Just back from a fantastic week here, beautiful farmhouse with everything you could possibly need, Darren and Sam have really thought of everything! Easy to explore the surrounding area and we covered Mont St Michel, Omaha beach, D-Day museum, Bayeux tapestry, as well as walking around pretty towns and eating in local restaurants. We even got a few sunny days at the beautiful sandy beaches in the area. We loved coming back to the house in the evening as it was so peaceful and we could really relax with a glass of wine or two! I would highly recommend Family-Fun-Holidays not only for the house but the hosts were really helpful, quick to reply to my emails when booking and even arranged for a welcome pack for our arrival including bread, cheese and local cider which was a lovely touch! We’ll definitely be visiting again soon!

C’est vraiment magnifique

We spent 10 days at Darren and Sam’s farmhouse. We had the most wonderful time. Everything was thought of. The kitchen was fully stocked with all utensils, there were UK plug adaptors in all rooms and excellent range of entertainment equipment was on hand (table tennis, children and adult bicycles, TV, DVD, X Box, footballs and net, children entertainment equipment with slides, swings, trampoline etc). The house has a lot of old world character with modern conveniences. The town of Percy is about 4km away with a large Intermarche and about 12km is the town of Villedieu des Poeles with a Casino hypermarket and a swimming pool. The house is a 30-60 minute drive from many excellent venues including Le Mont St. Michel, Granville Beach, the D Day beaches, Caen, Saint Lo, Sainte Mere Eglise etc. These include historical buildings, children friendly venues, shopping places, natural beauty/outdoors places. As a nice touch, there were a few basics and luxuries provided on check in so you can relax before going out for the inevitable shop. And relax you will. It is so quiet and peaceful there that the noisiest thing around are the neighbours (cows and birds). We would wholeheartedly recommend this place to small families (three bedroom option) or larger familes/friends with the six bedrooms). Thank you for making family vacation so easy, peaceful and memorable. See you next year 🙂

A brilliant fortnight in Percy

We have just returned from the most incredible 2 week holiday at a stunning Villa in Percy, France. It had 6 very large bedrooms which were all beautifully done up. The house and garden were huge and spacious and very clean. The owners have truly thought of everything to make sure their guests do not want for anything… from entertainment for our 3 young kids, aged 6, 10 and 11 years old, to every possible utility you could need! The kitchen is fully stocked with every electrical machine you could want you truly feel at home. There was table tennis, Netflix, Xbox, junglegyms, trampolining, a football goal with footballs, bicycles, books… the list goes on! Our kids were constantly entertained and it helped that we had friends with us. With 10 people staying in one house we didn’t even know each other were there as we had so much space to do our own things…. Not only could you spend all day entertained at the villa but it is so centrally placed that we were able to go to all the attractions in the area with such ease. We visited mont-st-mishel castle, alligator bay, Utah beach, the D-day museum, Granville centre and a stunning beach nearby the city center, our favourite outing was the parc animilier montagu la Brisette which was so reasonable and the kids loved it! We wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely return to this beautiful place again! Shopping was a 10 minute drive to Percy to the intermarche or a bit further to the bigger shop called “casino”. Thank you so much to the owners for letting us stay in your beautiful villa we would love to come back one day to your stunning town it was definitely a holiday we will remember forever. We highly recommend this place to anyone who wishes to go to France both with or without children you will love it 😍

The pictures do not do it justice

A wonderful house in a wonderfully peaceful location. I have just spent a marvellous week at La Basse Seroudiere. The first thing is the house, the pictures really do not do it justice. The standard of the house is superb. Everything I wanted was there; from the welcome pack to the adapter plugs. The rural location meant it was so peaceful and relaxing I was truly able to unwind while there. That was when I wasn’t sightseeing at the Mont-Saint-Michel, Utah beach, L’abbey at Hambye, Vire, Danin, Villedeau-les-Pooles or eating out at the many glorious restaurants and snack bars.

A wonderful family retreat

‘Easily one of the nicest properties we have stayed in during our many visits to France. Combining the character and quirkiness you would expect from an old farmhouse with all mod cons, made for a delightful and extremely comfortable stay.

Our arrival was welcomed with a choice of wine, cold beers in the fridge and a selection of local bread and cheeses, which was a lovely and unexpected touch.
Our three young kids delighted in the choice of 6 bedrooms although, invariably, all ended up sleeping soundly together in one of the large double beds. With a view of rolling countryside from every window, waking in the morning only to the sound of birds singing and cows mooing just adds to the sense of peacefulness and tranquillity of the location.
The local village catered well for all our shopping needs with the house itself being a great base for exploring the wider Normandy area. On the odd day when the weather wasn’t on our side, the host of games, books, dvd player and TV with full range of English programmes and film channels made chilling out around the house all day the ideal option. Cosying up with the kids (and a glass of wine) in front of the wood burner was lovely too.
All in all a beautiful house and family crowd pleaser’.
