Cycling around Normandy
La Basse Seroudiere is the ideal base for cycling around Normandy. The house itself is perfect; 6 bedrooms (sleeps 12 adults), all rooms have twin beds they can ziplock together if a double is preferred, 3 bathrooms, washing machine and dryer, plenty of parking, secure storage for your bikes overnight or if you have a rest day.
From the house you can ride along lovely and peaceful French roads, taking in the countryside, the Cathedrals and the landscapes. You can ride to some of the local attractions like the beaches of Utah and Omaha or for the more adventurous you can ride the first three stages of the 2016 Tour de France or take part in local races such as the Tour de Normand (September).
The cycling is perfect as pre-season training or as a good way to unwind after a heaving race or cycling season. For this reason lower rates, with higher availability, is possible in April – June 2020 and October and September 2020. Ferry crossings are also cheaper in these non peak months and we can provide a 10% discount on crossings with Brittany Ferries.
The basic offer is to stay at the house (for 4 – 14 nights) come in your own vehicle and bring your bike and do your own thing. There are routes you can download or you can create your own depending on your fitness and the time / distance you wish to ride each day.
Or, where required, for larger groups/clubs, we can provide an enhanced package including:
- breakfast and evening meal
- organised rides each day with qualified tour leaders and vehicle support
- start your trip at Portsmouth and travel on the ferry as a foot passenger and ride to the house from Caen
- for larger groups we can organise further accommodation where required
